How Many Straight Men Are Attracted to Trans Women?
Trans women know the answer all too well.
A lot.
A surprisingly big lot.
How large this group really is – and the fact that it even seems surprising – has a lot to do with how many men keep their desires secret.
The fear that their heterosexuality might be questioned is too great.
The fear of being judged or devalued too strong.
But honestly? That’s complete nonsense.
Let’s take a deep breath.
It’s a sensitive topic – so let’s proceed gently.
Here’s what I think: lots of us want sex and intimacy, but we don’t always want dating in the traditional, rom-com sense.
Some of us want to explore kink. Some of us want to try something we’ve fantasized about forever.
And sometimes we want that without the swirl of mixed signals, mismatched expectations, or the “so… what are we?” talk over lukewarm fries.

As the Bundes Deutscher Frauenvereine recognised way back in 1918, there is a central misogyny at play when a government regulates the bodies of sex workers but not their clients. But even in 2016, this practice was enshrined in the ProstituiertenSchutzGesetz (ProstSchG), which mandated the registration of sex workers.
During the 2024 Berlin Porn Film Festival, myself and a number of other wonderful Paramours attended a community networking event to mingle with other businesses and individuals creating radical positive change in the sex-positive scene of Berlin. The difference between morals and ethics
I daylight as a sex-work historian, and it’s amazing how consistent contemporary whorekind is with our predecessors through the ages. One hallmark of sex workers that is ever present is a rejection of the reigning morality of the day because it denies our humanity, merit, and righteousness.
To me, there is a stark contrast between morals and ethics.
Since the beginning of the evaluation of the law that governs our careers and bodies (ProstituiertenSchutzGesetz), sex workers have nervously awaited news of the new government’s intentions for us.
The wait ended in April.
The Koalitionsvertrag states:
“Germany has become a hub for human trafficking. Almost without exception, the victims are women. In light of the evaluation of the Prostitute Protection Act, we will make improvements as needed with the support of an independent commission of experts.”
On International Whoresday, we have a few things we would like to point out.
We are deeply gratified that the coalition will wait for the data before making policy choices,rather than–as we feared–stating a flat-out intention for implementing the Nordic Model in Germany, as many of us had dreaded. It is also an excellent sign that “experts” will be contracted to interpret the data and draft any changes to the law deemed appropriate. We hope and assume that sex workers will be among those experts.
However: It’s time for a fact check...
